About Bridget

Bridget Wegner is a Townsville-born, Brisbane-based violist currently studying a Bachelor of Music (Honours) and Science degree at The University of Queensland (UQ), majoring in viola under the tutelage of Professor Patricia Pollett. Bridget is principal violist of the UQ Symphony Orchestra, a 2025/2026 Next Gen Artist with Southern Cross Soloists, and a member of Cerulean Collective. She was the recipient of the 2025 Richard Pollett Prize. In 2025, she performed in the SXS Chamber Music Festival, Long Listen Festival, and alongside Ensemble Q in the 4MBS Gilbert & Sullivan Spectacular. Bridget has featured live on ABC
Classic FM, performing the first movement of Beethoven’s Septet with members of the Australian Youth Orchestra, and has also toured with members of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Opera Queensland for the Festival of Outback Opera in Winton and Longreach.
