Program to include
A single musical line, unfolding. In the hands of Timo-Veikko Valve (“Call me Tipi”), the cello becomes storyteller, architect and singer. His playing has been praised for its “burnished tone and expressive depth” and its “clarity and poise.” This program follows the idea of variation across centuries and continents. Older music by JS Bach, Giuseppe Colombi and Jean Sibelius sits alongside newer voices. Music shaped by repetition, memory and quiet transformation.
