Claude Monet - Afternoon on the Seine
Program to include
A network of friendships, family ties and artistic influence in early-20th-century Paris. Maurice Ravel finds luminous beauty in Greek folk tunes, while songs by sisters Lili and Nadia Boulanger unfold in a world of quiet reflection. Debussy—the great poet of woodwinds—seduces the ear with Syrinx and the Première Rhapsody. Soprano Sara Macliver brings her “thrilling and mesmerising” voice to the program, joined by the “brilliant” pianist Aura Go.
