Program to include
Sara Macliver joins the “exquisite and exhilarating” Lyrebird Trio for a program humming with bright morning energy. Two sets of Songs without Words—by Felix Mendelssohn and Anne Cawrse—capture the intimacy of lieder while letting instruments speak freely. Fanny Mendelssohn takes her brother’s lyrical impulse somewhere darker in the Piano Trio in D minor. And in Advice to a Girl, Anne Cawrse turns toward women’s voices and histories.
