Frauenliebe und Leben
Alexandra Flood, with “a voice to drown in” (The Courier Mail), joins Sholto Kynoch, one of the world’s great lieder pianists, for a recital program of captivating beauty. Robert Schumann’s exquisite Frauen-Liebe und Leben forms the centrepiece, a journey from love at first sight to marriage to motherhood to beyond.
This is a dream project for Flood, who sees enormous complexity and beauty in this portrait. In Betty Beath’s River songs the Brisbane river takes on many meanings, capturing all the richness of life itself as part of its onward flow.
