Southern Cross Soloists (SXS) has celebrated a triumphant return to Queensland with the 21st SXS Chamber Music Festival, held from 22–24 August 2025 at Shambala Estate, Tamborine Mountain. The festival achieved exceptional audience outcomes, reaffirming its position as one of Australia’s leading chamber music celebrations and a major cultural drawcard for the Scenic Rim region.

Across three days of performances, the festival attracted near-capacity audiences, welcoming visitors from Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Northern NSW, and interstate. Audience feedback was overwhelmingly positive, praising the festival’s artistic excellence, the stunning natural beauty of the Scenic Rim, and the immersive experience of chamber music among the mountain landscape.

Presented in association with Shambala Estate, the festival showcased the region’s hospitality, local produce, and creative spirit. Shambala Estate’s elegant venue and dedicated team played an instrumental role in the event’s success, providing world-class service and creating a warm, welcoming environment for artists and audiences alike.

Southern Cross Soloists also acknowledges the vital support of Scenic Rim Regional Council, whose Regional Events Sponsorship contributed to out-of-region marketing initiatives that successfully drew cultural tourists and generated meaningful economic benefits for local businesses. The presence of the Mayor of the Scenic Rim, who officially addressed the midday Sunday audience, highlighted the strong civic and community support underpinning the event.

SXS Artistic Director Tim Munro said, “This festival was a true celebration of Queensland artistry and the Scenic Rim’s breathtaking landscape—a cultural homecoming that connects world-class music with regional beauty.”
